Please Whitelist This Site?

I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. I don't want to go to a pay-only model like some sites, but when more and more people block ads, I end up working for free. And I have a family to support, just like you. :)

Please think about the value you get from this free site, and consider adding it to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on freelancingguide.net". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@||freelancingguide.net^$document". Then just click OK.

Thanks for your understanding!

Sincerely, Charles Kozierok

The Online Freelancing Pre-Bidding and Bidding Process

Deciding exactly what to include in a proposal, and knowing how best to structure it so it is likely to be chosen, is a somewhat complicated matter. This is why I have two whole sections that describe proposals in general terms, and provide you with practical tips to maximize their effectiveness. Understanding the mechanics of the proposal process is, by comparison, more straight-forward. But it’s still important, and I think a good place to start in discussing proposals and bidding.

This section of the Online Freelancing Guide covers all of the steps involved in the pre-bid and bidding process for a freelancing project. We start off with an important question: are you really ready to bid? Knowing when to pre-bid can save you a lot of time and trouble. I devote two topics to the pre-bidding process: one that describes what pre-bids are about in general terms, and another that discusses specific tips for success in discussing projects with clients. I then delve into the actual act of submitting a proposal, with some ideas for how to do this effectively. The final two topics discuss support activities after the proposal has been sent: managing outstanding bids, and following up with the client.
