Please Whitelist This Site?

I know everyone hates ads. But please understand that I am providing premium content for free that takes hundreds of hours of time to research and write. I don't want to go to a pay-only model like some sites, but when more and more people block ads, I end up working for free. And I have a family to support, just like you. :)

Please think about the value you get from this free site, and consider adding it to the whitelist for Adblock. To do so, just open the Adblock menu and select "Disable on freelancingguide.net". Or go to the Tools menu and select "Adblock Plus Preferences...". Then click "Add Filter..." at the bottom, and add this string: "@@||freelancingguide.net^$document". Then just click OK.

Thanks for your understanding!

Sincerely, Charles Kozierok

Acknowledgments

This project has been a couple of years in the making, with quite a few twists and turns along the way. I’m grateful to everyone who has provided support, advice and assistance, and also to those who have just been there to listen when I needed it.

Top billing in the acknowledgment department must naturally go to my wife Robyn, and my three sons Ryan, Matthew and Evan. While being an independent writer working at home has its advantages, it can also be hard on one’s family in a variety of subtle and not-so-subtle ways. My family has always been extremely supportive, and without them I could never have gotten this project done (well, at least launched—it’s not done yet!) My wife has been especially critical in this process, encouraging me to see this project through when on several occasions I considered leaving it on the shelf.

I’d also like to thank Jenni Anderson from Pace Computing, for her advice and support. In addition to being a talented Web designer and SEO maven, Jenni is the administrator of the Professional Freelancers’ Network, a great resource for independent freelancers who are looking for a community of like-minded colleagues.

Thanks also to Tess Janka and Rebecca Grossman for reviewing drafts of some of this material, and providing me with feedback and encouragement.

On the technical side, thanks again to Omni Systems, for their superb MIf2Go FrameMaker/HTML export filter. Without this tool, the production of the site would have been far more difficult.

I’ve probably missed a few people who should be on this list; I hope all who are deserving of my appreciation will forgive their omission and accept my thanks.
